Privacy Policy
This policy describes what information this website collects, how it is stored and used, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed past.
Information you give us
If you submit the case review form, we collect what you choose to share: the situation and timing categories you select, your name, phone number, and email address, your city and state where asked, and any notes you add in your own words, together with your consent to be contacted and the date and time you gave it. We also record technical context needed to operate the form: the page you submitted from, a submission identifier, your IP address (used for abuse prevention and rate limiting), and browser information. Submitting the form does not create an attorney-client relationship. Please do not include privileged or highly sensitive details in the form, save those for a confidential consultation.
How your submission is stored
Submissions are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database with role-restricted access. If the database is temporarily unavailable, your submission is encrypted and held in a private storage container until it is recovered into the database, after which the temporary copy is deleted. Access to stored submissions is limited to authorized personnel, protected by multi-factor authentication, and every view of your contact details is logged.
How your information is used
Your submission is used to evaluate whether the firm can help you and to contact you about your inquiry using the contact method you selected. When you submit, our intake team receives an internal notification email containing the information you provided, delivered through our email provider, and your inquiry is reviewed by Ackermann & Tilajef, P.C. and, where appropriate for your matter, associated counsel. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your intake details with advertisers or research vendors.
Service providers
We use a small number of service providers to operate this website: hosting and serverless infrastructure (Vercel), database hosting (Neon), encrypted temporary storage for the fallback described above (Vercel Blob), internal notification email (Resend), and anti-bot verification (Cloudflare Turnstile) when enabled. Each processes only what its role requires.
Information collected automatically
Our host, Vercel, produces standard server logs (such as IP address and requested URL) needed to operate the site securely, and we use your IP address to rate-limit form submissions. When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile helps us distinguish real visitors from bots and processes limited technical signals for that purpose. This site does not currently load third-party analytics scripts; if we enable a privacy-conscious analytics tool in the future, it will be configured so that form entries are not captured and no session recording is enabled, and this policy will be updated.
Retention
Inquiry records are retained for as long as needed to evaluate and respond to your inquiry, to check for conflicts of interest, and to meet our professional and legal obligations. Encrypted temporary copies created during a database outage are deleted once your submission is recovered into the database. You may request deletion of your inquiry information at any time using the contact details below, subject to records we are required to keep.
Your rights (including California residents)
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to request a copy, to ask us to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. If the CCPA/CPRA applies to us, California residents have these rights. To exercise any of them, call us or write to the office below; requests are subject to identity verification, and we will respond within the time required by law. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
